Sunday Gathering – Building an Altar Together

Dear Urban Sanctuary Friends,

Next Sunday, Nov 1 is the Feast of All Souls.  It’s also the last Sunday we gather before Election Day.  I’m reaching out to you to invite you to build a virtual altar of our Ancestors and to call on their spirits to guide us through the events of this week.  Let’s populate the altar with all kinds of folks we want to call in – family members, mentors, heroes, people who had hard lives who know how much the things on the ballot matter.  Honor people you’ve lost by sharing them with us.

Here’s how we can fortify ourselves for the week ahead as we share this special day together:

• be on our zoom service next Sunday as our service will be completely focused around calling on the ancestors together and in breakout rooms.
• if you can, make a little altar next to your screen when you sign into the service – light a candle, place a symbolic object and have their favorite food if you can, we’ll be having communion too
