To avoid delays, we invite you to consider using 10th Street (from the north of downtown) and 11th Street (from the South of downtown and I280) to San Fernando. Turn toward and then take a right on 5th Street. Urban Sanctuary is at the end of the dead-end street and there is parking onsite.

With mask mandates recently loosening up here we are still aware we share our space with those who have vulnerable health challenges. Here’s the current guidelines:
Sundays: Since we do not require proof of vaccination, we will still require masks indoors for all persons, regardless of vaccination status. This applies to both the Sunday Gathering and the After-session.
Meetings and Small Groups: Staff and all persons gathered in small groups can do a check in with each other. If all persons are vaccinated, the group can decide whether to wear masks or not.
Coffee and refreshments: Coffee and refreshments will be shared outdoors on our patio. Come enjoy them and the beautiful wall of flowers in spring bloom!
One of the most important things we can do for our planet is have effective conversations about climate change. THIS! Is What We Did, which was incubated at Urban Sanctuary San Jose, offers free 3-week (90-minutes per week) classes on how to have Effective Climate Conversations.
Action begins with conversation! However, conversations about climate change can easily go off the rails. This class will show how to avoid pitfalls, promote understanding and “listen deeply” to people of all views on climate change. This is a foundational skill necessary to any successful action in support of the climate. And it is fun!
One recent graduate of the class said, “I’ve worked in the area of climate change for a long time. I’ve never thought about conversation as being important. I now know it’s core to it all.”
