As we embark on our series The Future of Spiritual Communities we’ll consider what makes a community, and a conversation, alive and well. We’ll look at Jesus’ infamous conversation with the Disciples on the Road to Emmaus where their “hearts burned within them”.

Church Out in the Streets

In the After-Session Deb St. Julien will lead a conversation about the ways in which churches are learning from, supporting, partnering with social justice organizations that function much like spiritual communities. Deb will lift up the ways these organizations are not only engaging in social transformation but are tending to the trauma and the healing that’s needed among themselves as they engage the work.
