August 29 Stephan Boniface on the Pipe Organ

We will be blessed in August with experiencing the incredible versatility of a time-honored instrument – the organ.

The Hammond B3 organ was originally marketed by the Hammond Organ Company to churches as a lower-cost alternative to the wind-driven pipe organ, or instead of a piano. It quickly became popular with professional jazz musicians in organ trios. We’re grateful to Neil for sharing this as we explore opening our space to concerts, artists, and musicians.

Like many churches, our pipe organ isn’t used like it used to be. So, we’re grateful that

Stephan Boniface, who was previously an organist here, and has played for many churches with some of the finest pipe organs in SV. He will return to dust off our organ and share with us some of its unique features. We’re grateful he’ll bring his gifts and his good-natured spirit to share why the pipe organ has been so “instrumental” in church music.
